Water crisis in Bengaluru

The 48% unaccounted water supplied by BWSSB in Bangalore is because of faulty metering, theft and leakage, Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah told the legislative council in July 2014.

We are in 2015 and there is no clear plan from BWSSB to plug this huge leakage in the city.

Dependency of Cauvery river alone must be reduced by exploring bringing water to Bangalore from other rivers. Also on war footing steps must be taken to make use of Hesarghatta, Tippagundanahalli reservoirs and the conservation of few surviving water bodies in and around Bangalore.

Wipro founder Mr.Azim Premji has raised this grave crisis facing the city and fears that IT companies of the city may have to look for new location if the water problem is not solved in next 10 years.
